In 1972 Ken obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Walla Walla Community College and joined the US Coast Guard spending four years instructing electronics at Governor’s Island, NY. Ken also served on various Loran stations and ships until 1980 when he resigned his commission and moved to Baudette, MN. At that time he joined the Army Reserve eventually retiring in 1992 with 26 years service.
In 1980 Ken started his own commercial two way communications business until 1992 when he went to work for Solvay Pharmaceuticals as the senior electronics technician. Ken retired in April of 2002, when he and his wife Marilyn moved to Blackduck, MN. They have three sons and one daughter, three grandsons and four granddaughters. Ken’s hobbies are Amateur radio, hiking, four wheeling, and competitive shooting.
Other activities that Ken is involved in include the Sheriff’s Community Guard, Army MARS, Emergency Management, Arizona Rangers (winter months), Civil Air Patrol, and working for Roger’s Two Way Radio. |
